The town of Gerrards Cross is located North of Gatwick airport a distance of 50 miles that would take around 55 minutes by taxi via the M25 and M40. It is situated in Buckinghamshire and nearest towns are Denham, Chalfont St Giles and Beaconsfield. It has a population of 7,342 according to the 2001 Census.

The town was formed from areas taken from the existing 5 parishes of Chalfont St Peter, Fulmer, Iver, Langley Marish and Upton and was named after the Gerrard Family who had owned a manor in the early 17th Century. Prior to this the town was called Jarrett's Cross after a Highwayman. In 1969 the singer Lulu married Maurice Gibb of the Bee Gees in the distinctively designed St James parish church built in 1861, and today the town is known as a 'mini hollywood' due to the number of famous residents. It has a reputation as being an upmarket and exclusive area with higher than average house prices and is a London Commuter town.

The town has the charm of an english town with old buildings, shops, pubs and restaurants. Some of the hotels are steeped in history with some famous guests such as Oliver Cromwell and Winston Churchill. There are a number of local manor houses and museums to visit aswell as popular visitor attractions such as Bekonscot Model Village, Odds Farm Park, The Chiltern Open Air Museum and the Windsor Racecourse.
